Net ad revenues lower than expected
Article Abstract:
The Internet Advertising Bureau (AIB) of Canada has revised its projections for Internet ad revenues in 1999 to $37.7 million, down by $20 million compared to its original estimate in its May 1998 survey. Ernst & Young Management Consultants of Toronto, Ontario also lowered its Internet ad revenues in 1998 from $22.9 million to only $20.7 million. Ernst & Young Managing Partner Miles Faulkner, who also heads the group that researched the AIB Canada's biannual Internet advertising Survey, said the roup decided to lower sales projection for 1999 because advertisers and key industry sectors have not adopted Internet advertising aggressively as expected.
