ACRO Aerospace and Helipro International have received three new overhaul contracts worth a total of $26 milion. The first award pertains to a $15.1 million prgram for the overhaul and refurbishment of the Venezuelan Army's fleet of Agusta/Sikorsky AS-61D helicopterw, with work to be completed by Mar 2002. The second contract is in support of main gearboxes for Sikorsky HH-3E heicopters operated by Tunisia. The third contract relates to the refurbishment of Bell 412 and MD500 helicopters for the government of Hondoras.

US Army takes AH-64D option
Article Abstract:
Boeing Co has signed an option contract on Sep 29, 2000, for the remanufacture of additional AH-64A Apaches into next-generation AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopters. The $2.3-billion contract will authorize Boeing to convert 269 AH-64As into AH-64D Apache longbows from 2002-2006. The second multi-year contract includes mainenance and operator training devices, spare parts, logistics and support services and various items designed to further improve supportability and maintainability.

First CH-60S delivery
Article Abstract:
Sikorsky Aircraft Corp of Stratford, CT, has been awarded a $67.4-million contract by the US Navy in Sep 1999. The contract requires the delivery of five CH-60S fleet combat support helicopters by Jun 2000, with an option for an additional helicopter, and the provision of engineering and logistic support services. The first two CH-60S helicopters are expected to be completed and delivered in Dec 1999.
