No pain, no gain
Article Abstract:
Joanna Mead's Fetish Fashion provides Hong Kong with a variety of high-end garments and accoutrements satisfying buyers' sexual or aesthetic desires. Whips, leashes, straitjackets, lingerie, and catsuits, all made of leather, rubber, or steel as well as conventional materials, sell briskly. Mead, three years in Hong Kong, enjoys the view of people this provides her. Many buy items as joke gifts or party wear, especially bankers, though some 5% make up a devoted core of regular customers. Western heterosexuals are typical buyers.

Long live the king
Article Abstract:
Tsang Tso Choi is a graffiti artist in Hong Kong. He is 75 years old and disabled, but has covered much of Hong Kong with his work. He calls himself King of Kowloon, and he has attracted a following. His work has appeared in advertisements for Hong Kong's Arts Centre and on a compact disc from two disc jockeys. His neighbours have protested about his work, which they see as contributing to mess, but many of his fans see him as an inspiration.
