It looks at current and long term trends and future prospects, and in particular, the food, non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks markets. The food market should see only steady growth in the immediate future, although there are encouraging prospects for non-alcoholic drinks in certain countries, and competition in the alcoholic drinks sector will continue..

Non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages in Italy
Article Abstract:
In 1996, consumption of soft drinks in Italy rose more than 13%, with a 0.5% increase reported for mineral waters and 1% drop for fruit juices. Wine sales increased by nearly 19%, however, production and consumption of alcoholic drinks are currently affected by negative trends. An overview of key market trends is given, including details of foreign trade.
