Not frothy, but fairly liquid
Article Abstract:
The lack of liquidity has often hampered the exit environment in Europe but signs are proving positive for a change of attitude. An investment of 770,000 pounds sterling was converted into profit of 108 million pounds sterling by Venture capitalist firm Schroder Ventures, when it sold German compact disc manufacturer Singulus in 1998. Investors are more willing to purchase European firms in the knowledge that the stock market is becoming more open to new issues.

Willes makes waves at Close Brothers
Article Abstract:
Simon Willes has been appointed to the board of Close Brothers, a UK specialist merchant bank. He has moved from Morgan Grenfell and was previously at Robert Fleming. Willes reportedly will become Close brothers' head of corporate finance. He sees the role of Close Borthers as specialising in niches. These include MBA exits, a field which large competitors of Close have tended to ignore. Close Brothers' clients include Acorn Computer Group, Logica and Jessups.
