On an inventory model with deteriorating items and decreasing time-varying demand and shortages
Article Abstract:
An algorithm for solving the problem of determining an optimal replenishment schedule for inventories of perishable goods which have a constant deterioration rate, experience shortages and are characterized by decreasing demand rates over a certain time period is introduced. The procedure is applicable to situations wherein deterioration but no shortages occur, inventories without deterioration and with shortages and systems characterized by the absence of deterioration and shortages.

Effects of inflation and time-value of money on an inventory model with time-dependent demand rate and shortages
Article Abstract:
A model describing the impact of inflation and time-value of money on an inventory model characterized by time-dependent demand rate and fixed shortage costs is examined. The model assumed equal replenishment cycles with equal inventory time for each interval. A modification of the model is achieved by changing the total variable cost formula and eliminating the equal replenishment conditions. The modified model exhibits dual market applications in a continuous time-dependent frame.

A deterministic inventory model for deteriorating items with two warehouses and finite replenishment rate
Article Abstract:
A heuristic model for two warehouses with finite productionrates and uniform demands and shortages is presented. The model can be applied to order-level inventories for perishable items in two warehouses, whether or not the deterioration rates are the same in both warehouses. Various examples are presented to illustrate varying optimum inventory levels and optimum costs for varying shortage costs.
