Opinions on Indonesia's pulp sector vary widely among industry analysts
Article Abstract:
The sharp decline of pulp prices which began during the second half of 1995 had adversely affected Indonesian producers. Since Mar. 1996, however, pulp prices have stabilized. Some analysts believe that the worst has passed and that it is now time to buy into Indonesian pulp and paper companies. Others remain cautious, amid concerns that the current upswing in pulp prices is a premature development.

Asia Pulp & Paper to seek listing for China business

Singapore-based Asia Pulp & Paper Co. hopes to raise $500 million by listing its stock on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Also, the group may merge its Indonesian pulp and paper interests and list them on the Singapore exchange.
