Optimal grouping for a nuclear magnetic resonance scanner by means of an open queuing model
Article Abstract:
The way, in which a nuclear resonance scanner can be managed more efficiently, simultaneously improving patient comfort in terms of total time spent in the system and increasing availability in case of emergency calls are analyzed. The objective function consists of the weighted average patient lead-time, which is a multi-dimensional convex function of the different patient group sizes.

A system modelling approach for the progression of diabetic retinopathy is described that is used for cost effectiveness evaluations of various prevention and patient care options. The necessary modular development guided by clicians and health care modellers are mentioned.
