PGA, Singapore team up

Florida billionaire and PGA National Resorts owner Llwyd Ecclestone and Singapore's Hospitality Systems Asia-Pacific Ltd. agreed to jointly develop and manage golf resorts in Asia. The new company, PGA National Asia-Pacific Ltd., hopes to build five to ten new golf courses over the next five years. Ecclestone is relying on famous golfers to design the new golf courses which will mostly be midlevel courses. Analysts, however, doubt whether the region can absorb new batches of golf courses.

Singapore, U.S. sign accord
Article Abstract:
Singapore and the US will sign an agreement that will open both countries' skies to each other's airlines. The move could prompt other Asian countries, pressured incessantly by the US, to follow Singapore's lead. Industry analysts believe the agreement is beneficial to Singapore Airlines in the long term. Some, however, contend the US may have more to gain from the open skies policy. The US wants to take advantage of the increasing growth in aviation in Asia.
