Asia-Fund premiums drop: bargains are scarce; demand sags in region
Article Abstract:
The short-term prospects for Asian closed-end funds are bleak, with the demand for such funds in short supply both in the regional and international markets. The funds, which formerly traded at hefty premiums to the funds' net asset value, fetches an average of 3.4% premium to net asset value from their former 23% of net asset value. Much of the investor scare is prompted by the wide differential displayed by the funds in both the US and UK markets.
