Article Abstract:
The rising Japanese governmental debt and social security issue of the aged Japanese population the neglect of which led to the defeat of Koizumi's Liberal Democratic Party in the election to the upper house have been described. Suggestions have been provided to the Japanese government to improve its sagging economy.

While some economic statistics such as employment rates, GDP, private consumption, etc. are not showing that Japan's recession is over, many such statistics are indicating that Japan's recession is or might end soon. Even so, some problems persist, such as bad debts owned by banks.

Junichiro Koizumi's tenure as prime minister of Japan is not certain. The country's economic condition is not good. However, he might very well stay in office.
