Pearson holds talks with Spiegel to sell half of FT Deutschland
Article Abstract:
UK publishing firm Pearson PLC and German periodical publisher Spiegel-Verlag Rudolf Augstein GmbH are currently in talks regarding the sale of Pearson's 50% share in the Financial Times Deutschland to Spiegel-Verlag. The sale would effectively give control of FT Deutschland to Bertelsmann AG, as it owns a 75% majority stake in Gruner and Jahr, which in turn owns a 25.5% stake in Spiegel-Verlag.
