PepsiCo launches Mountain Dew soft drink in the U.K. market

Pepsi-Cola International is launching its carbonated soft drink Mountain Dew in the U.K. in February 1996, backed by a $9 million advertising campaign. The citrus-flavoured drink has a 5.2% share of the carbonated soft drinks market in the U.S., where it sold over 3 billion lt in 1995. The U.K. soft drinks market is valued at some $12 billion, with carbonated soft drinks accounting for nearly half the market.

Norway first market for Coca-Cola's Urge energy drink
Article Abstract:
Coca-Cola is to launched Urge, a citrus flavoured energy soft drink in Norway. The drink contains non-sweet carbohydrates, and has lower carbonation than some regular soft drinks. It will compete with traditional soft drinks and is available in lemon, lime, Valencia orange, grapefruit and tangerine flavours.

Y&R wins task to launch Dr Pepper in Europe
Article Abstract:
Young & Rubicam has been awarded the contract to advertise the continental Europe launch of Dr Pepper, by Schweppes Europe of the US, a division of Cadbury-Schweppes. Cadbury-Schweppes acquired the carbonated soft drink in 1995, and the 99 year old brand has been advertise in the US since 1969.
