Pfizer's shares sag on earnings outlook
Article Abstract:
Pfizer Inc. posted an improvement in its net income for the first quarter of 1999. The company's results matched what had been forecasted by Wall Street. However, Pfizer's share value fell because the company surprisingly forecasted a "single-digit" growth in earnings for the second quarter of 1999. Pfizer posted an 18% rise in net income to $815 million for the period. This amounts to 62 cents a diluted share.
