Sithe sale will cut total Vivendi debt

Vivendi SA acknowledged that its sale of part of Sithe Energies Inc. will eliminate a large portion of its debts. The deal will relieve almost 4 billion euros of Vivendi's debts. Sithe is being sold to Peco Energy Co. for approximately $680 million.

Foreign consortium buys a 35% stake in Polish generator

Poland's Treasury Ministry sold a minority share of Elektrownia Rybnik to Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG and Electricite de France. The 35% share was sold to the consortium for $120 million (134.3 million euros).
