Polish corvette project gathers speed as weapon and system options are studied

The Polish Navy is going ahead with its six-corvette Project 621. Polish shipyard Stocznia MW and a German consortium that includes Thyssen/Blohm + Voss have been awarded a contract for the program's definition phase. The modern corvettes will be baed on the 1,600-ton MEKO A-100 stealth corvette designed by Blohm + Voss. The ships are expected to be equipped with a six-tonne class helicopter.

Poland orders fiver new-generation air-defense radars
Article Abstract:
Przemyslowy Instytut Telekomunikacji (PIT) has been awarded a $60-million contract to supply Poland's Ministry of Defense with five N-12 family 3D D-band (L-band) air defense backbone radar systems. The contract is for two N-12 standard upgradeable variants and three N-12M modified radar systems with a new antenna and ballistic missile tracking. PIT said that it will offer the N-12M in an international competitive bidding to meet a requirement for a further three systems for Poland.
