Article Abstract:
Japanese men are showing considerable interest in Pfizer's Viagra impotence drug. The drug is not available in Japan, so some Japanese men are spending considerable sums of money on travelling to the US to obtain supplies there. Pfizer believes that Japan will be the last country to approve Viagra. The drug could become one of many that have been very successful in the US but have had their launch in Japan hampered by regulations that state that they must be tested on animals as well as humans.

The hype created by the World Health Organization about the Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) has done more damage to the Asian economies than the epidemic itself. Unemployment in Hong Kong and Singapore reached a record high of 7.7 % and 4.5 % respectively. The travel warnings emptied the hotels bringing great loss to the tourism business.
