Article Abstract:

In Algeria, a draft agreement and an agreement have been signed concerning the privatisation and financing of 690 of the 1,110 state-owned pharmaceutical distribution agencies. The cost of this initial batch of agencies is estimated at AD 3bn. The financing formula adopted includes an amount limited to AD 10mn per purchase, the financing of 80% of the purchase, and a 7-year credit, for which the payments for the first one to two years are delayed. The agreement and draft agreement have been signed by Chimie-Pharmacie, the state-owned holding company, the Cr dit Populaire d'Algerie, and the company in charge of privatisation. *
