Theme: bathrooms and kitchens
Article Abstract:
Natural slate is becoming more popular for work surfaces in kitchens whilst matching fitted kitchens remain a favoured design. Some architects and designers are also designing bathroom fittings, such as Philippe Starck. Making the best use of limited space in the bathroom is becoming more important, with plumbing fixtures also being reduced in size. Showers are becoming an increasingly popular addition to the bathroom. The UK government has introduced the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 to try to reduce the amount of water used for flushing toilets.

Article Abstract:
Climate facades are increasingly popular components in glass building designs. They achieve air circulation via mechanical ventilation, thus preventing heat loss, and are available in anti-reflective, laminated and safety glass. A growing number of large buildings feature aluminum and rainscreen cladding. Cladding standards for rainscreen structures are published by windows authority Center for Window and Cladding Technology.
