Long labour, painless birth
Article Abstract:
The trading of the Euro against the dollar seemed to follow the performance of the Ecu, the replaced currency of the European Union, at the end of 1998. The Euro did not outperform the dollar as expected by some quarters, despite the dollar's 1997 downward trend. As of September, however, the dollar has been on an upward trend which could lead to a trading range of between 1.08 to 1.12 against the Euro. In a related development, European equity markets continued their good performance. Investors, however, are warned not to become overconfident.
