Publishers mull split run partners

The agreement between the US and Canada over split magazine runs has been greeted with mixed reactions by the industry. There are those who view the deal with guarded optimism while there are others who see it as a chance to size up business opportunities. One of them is Brian Segal, CEO of Maclean Hunter Publishing Ltd (MH), who said that his company will adopt its strategy to the new competitive landscape. MH has now the option of signing deals with foreign companies or selling advertising in the US.
