Adopting or adapting? The tension between local and international mindsets in Portuguese management
Article Abstract:
The process of management is analyzed as a dynamic interplay between local factors and imported management knowledge. The management practices in Portugal are discussed. It is concluded that changes occurring in managerial practice in Portugal stem from the tension between a parochial mindset and a new international mindset.

Ethics at the purchasing/sales interface: an international perspective

Global purchasing and sales interactions are characterized by ethical problems that could affect the reputation of the parties involved in such transactions. These problems, which include bribery and cultural imperialism, can be solved by introducing code of ethics in corporations involved in international marketing.
