RIL FORMS JV WITH CARTER BURGESS FOR ROAD PROJECTS
Article Abstract:
Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has entered into an alliance with Carter Burgess Ltd (CBL), an engineering company of the US to form a joint venture for undertaking road sector projects. RIL is expected to hold majority stake in the joint venture while CBL holds a maximum of 10 percent stake. RIL will get technical assistance from CBL. Reliance will be raising resources through external commercial borrowings (ECBs) as well as for the from domestic agencies. Reliance has been shortlisted for four road projects: Jaipur-Kishenghar expressway in Rajasthan, Chinglepet-Tindivanam on National Highway 45 in Tamil Nadu, Hosur-Krishnagiri on National Highway 7, and balance work for Ahmedabad-Vadodara expressway. IBM PLANS TO SET UP E-BUSINESS SCHOOL IN RAJASTHAN

38IBM plans to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Rajasthan for establishing an international institute for electronic business and governance in the State. The institute will be an integral part of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIT). It will concentrate on developing technologies on electronic commerce and the Internet. The institute will offer training and consultancy in organisational and procedural reforms. It will also develop information technology applications for government administration. The proposed institute will to create manpower trained in electronic commerce. (ag)

CREST SCRIPTS TIE-UP WITH TIME-WARNER
Article Abstract:
Crest Communications (CC) which makes animation films, plans to enter into alliance with Time-Warner (TW) of the US to form a joint venture. Under the agreement, TW is likely to source animation films and other related products from CC. CC is planning to set up an office in Los Angeles to generate a revenue of about $20 million in the next two years. CC's export projects include contracts from Rich Animation, Walt Disney, TW and Fanhtome of France. (gs)
