Article Abstract:
Komercni banka (KB) (Prague, Czech Republic), bank, saw a net loss of CEK 19 mil in 2000. The result was influenced by several factors. State aid represented by a guarantee worth CEK 20 bil enabled the bank to form lower reserves and rectifying items than the expected CEK 7.875 bil. Their level was roughly covered from the generated profit. KB's total proceeds amounted to more than CEK 20 bil in 2000. CEK 12.3 bil of the sum was represented by interest revenues and CEK 4.4 bil by non-interest revenues.

Ceska sporitelna (CS) (Prague, Czech Republic), bank, saw a net profit of CEK 41 mil in 2000, according to international accounting standards and consolidated results. CS's operating costs amounted to CEK 13.5 bil in 2000. Its primary deposit volume was CEK 357.5 bil in 2000. CS formed reserves of CEK 1.77 bil for its restructuring in 2000. It utilized CEK 355 mil of the sum in 2000. The ratio of revenues and costs was 70.7% in 2000. CS wants to decrease the share to 70% in 2000.
