Rako plans to invest nearly CEK 1 bil
Article Abstract:
Rako (Rakovnik, Czech Republic), ceramic tile manufacturer, plans to invest nearly CEK 1 bil in its production and to set up about 125 jobs during the next few years. Rako has received investment incentives in the form of a five-year income-tax reduction for investment in its modernization. Rako is one of the three largest ceramic firms in the Czech Republic. High investments are being prepared by the remaining two manufacturers Keramika Horni Briza (KHB) (Horni Briza, Czech Republic) and Chlumcanske keramicke zavody (CHKZ) (Chlumcany, Czech Republic). KHB is preparing investments worth CEK 600 mil and CHKZ investments worth CEK 400 mil. All the three ceramic companies produce a total of 30 mil cu mt of ceramic tiles per year.

Hartmann Rico (HR) (Veverska Bityska, Czech Republic), hygienic and healthcare supply manufacturer, plans to invest CEK 400 mil in 2001-2002. The investments should be used for the extension of the firm's production. HR plans to increase the number of its employees by 150-200 in 2001. In 2000 it took 163 new employees. It has 1,445 employees at the beginning of 2001.
