R&SA identifies protection gap
Article Abstract:
Small firms are unaware of the implications of the illness of death of a key employee, according to a recent survey undertaken by NOP for Royal & Sun Alliance (R&SA). Nearly 80% had not considered taking out death or illness cover, although 94% had at least one key member of staff, while 95% had buildings and contents cover. Most of the small businesses in the survey said that they had never had a proper explanation about key employee insurance cover.

Ombudson hits out at combined service
Article Abstract:
Tony Holland, principal ombudsman of the Personal Investment Authority, said the new single super-ombudsman service could wipe-out the advantages of the present system if it to rigid, inhibiting the role of resolving disputes. The present voluntary and statutory ombudsman bureaux is to be incorporated into the new Financial Services Authority in 2000 with the title, Financial Services Ombudsman Service.
