Re-configured S-92
Article Abstract:
Sikorsky has started tests of the reconfigured fifth prototype S-92 on Feb 8, 2001, at its Palm Beach, FL, flight test facility. The company has crried out basic hover control checks and a series of climbs and descents, airspeed and vibration checks on the aircraft. It introduces the 41cm longer cabin, together wtih 1m shorter tail pylon and a horizontal stabilizer relocated from the upper port side of the pylon down to the starboard side of the tail boom.

5th NH-90 flies
Article Abstract:
The fifth and last NH-90 helicopter prototype reached a maximum speed of 185 km/h in its maiden flight at an Agusta plant in Cascina Costa, Italy. The naval-configured helicopter incorporates the basic fly-by-wire and automatic flight control systems that were tested in previous prototypes. The aircraft features a new dedicated naval mission system with a 360 degree tactical radar sonar and sonobuoy equipment.

Australian SH-2G(A) flying
Article Abstract:
Kaman Aerospace is conducting initial flight testing of the production prototype SH-2G(A) Super Seasprite helicopter. The company is under contract with the Royal Australian Navy to rebuild and upgrade 11 SH-2F Sprites to SH-2G(A) configuration. The SH-2G(A) design will feature an Integrated Tactical Avionics System, which will contain four active matrix crystal color multi-function displays.
