Real-estate prices drop and rents decline in Bombay: slack demand for office space and expectations of greater supply contribute to descent
Article Abstract:
The facility management industry in Bombay is experiencing a drop in office space rental rates, driven largely by the Asian economic crisis. Apart from the economic crisis, office space rental rates are also decreasing due to the relocation of many multinational firms to other less pricey developments and the continued office space construction in Bombay. Property management analysts believe that Bombay office space rental rates can still expect a 10% to 20% decline over the next 12 to 18 months, with the market already posting a 10% decline.

Hindalco is seen buoyed by firm prices, demand
Article Abstract:
Analysts predict that India's Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Hindalco) will be able to maintain its strong performance through the next few years. Steady aluminum prices, strong demand and the addition of new capacity have helped to drive the company's share price up by some 45% but many still consider it as a bargain. Hindalco shares are selling at slightly below the market's average prospective price/earnings ratio.
