The tragedy of Hurricane Katrina could affect foreign markets negatively if United States consumers decrease spending and the United States economy slows. Many factors come into play but economic forecasters suggest global economic growth will also decrease because of the high price of oil.

International central banks are increasing revenue and becoming a new order of foreign exchange investor. Contrary to impressions, the current trend in economic policy does not involve dumping dollars wholesale and buying assets in other foreign currencies.
