Many Latin American governments are concerned about social development, since economic inequalities have grown more acute in recent years. Rather than increase social spending, Latin American nations need to reorient their spending towards basic education and anti-corruption activities.

Corporate boards of directors need to be reformed so that they help make shareholders rich. Board directors need to have a bigger stake in the companies they advise, and they should be selected for their ability to make practical contributions.
