Many South Africans are sanguine about the appointment of Kahn to head the police force. He promises to be tough on crime, which is the highest in the world in South Africa. Kahn is popular with both blacks and whites. The scope of his duties will be limited to managing the police force.

A counter-reformation
Article Abstract:
The unification of Berlin, Germany has led to an exchange between museums to conciliate their collections. Before some related artifacts and art works were held in separate museums in East and West Berlin. Former East German museums are in disrepair and in need of cash.

Pres Clinton cancelled his proposal to raise 'sin taxes' on beer after pressure from brewing industry heavyweights such as Anheuser-Busch. Beer has become very popular, and microbreweries and home-brewing are becoming common.
