Rescue proposal for Isokon as listing is upgraded
Article Abstract:
Architect Chris Flannery is proposing a rescue plan for the Wells Coates' Isokon Flats in Hampstead, North London, including refurbishment and opening them up to the public. The Department of Culture Media and Sport has upgraded the famous 1934 flats from Grade II to Grade I listing. Flannery's draft proposal retains 12 flats on a short leasing basis for architectural artists or students, and other approaches including setting up resident artist course for the community in the building.

Broadway Malyan's 'secret' tower
