Roach fakes out American TV viewers

An Orkin Pest Control television commercial has drawn mixed reactions from viewers because of its realistic-looking cockroach crawling across the screen. The spot, which started airing across the US in Mar 2000, begins with an ad for a fictional fabric softener before a cockroach crawls on the screen. Later, an Orkin worker appears and sprays the bug. Orkin, and its agency, J. Walter Thompson, have received calls from dozens of angry and amused viewers.

No bunny in Energizer e2 campaign
Article Abstract:
Eveready Battery Co's advertising campaign for its new Energizer e2 battery will no longer feature the bunny. The US televsion ad campaign for the new Energizer will start July 31 while print ads will appear in August in magazines such as People, Wired and Rolling Stone. The Canadian ad campaign will begin in the next few weeks. The global ad campaign will cost $100 million, with $70 million earmarked for the US campaign.

Leon's Furniture Ltd, a furniture retailer based in Toronto, Ontario, was able to wide its customer base and increase sales through a TV ad campaign aimed at upscale consumers. The commercial, which was created by Communique Group, promoted Leon's Platinum Gallery, a new store section comprising of quality furnishings. The campaign was so successful that sales exceeded the company's most optimistic expectations.
