Roman and Regency on the river
Article Abstract:
UK architect Adrian James has designed and built a house on the River Thames which is based on a steel frame with barrel-valued brick built around it. The timber ground flooring is the only part of the building not constructed from steel. The Metsec Metframe is a pre-cast steel product which can be bolted together rather than welded, enabling joins to be made more quick and cost-effectively. The lightweight steel was ideal for cutting, joining and shaping.
