Roof and window prison
Article Abstract:
In designing Woodhill Prison, the architect had to minimise security risks at the same time as providing a humane environment. The cell blocks are triangular with two sides of cells and a large association area. All roofs are completely visible, potential hiding places have been eliminated and there are no sharp corners. The windows are barred, glazed with polycarbonate glass and positioned so as to prevent communication between cells.
