SAS to defend Scandinavian skies against Virgin Express

SAS of Scandinavia, an airline, has welcomed competition from Virgin Express, which is seeking permission to launch services between Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen, and London, Paris, Frankfurt and Brussels. Virgin Express aims to offer an efficient and reliable service at lower cost, and is developing a five year marketing plan with marketing consultants in Olso, Copenhagen and Stockholm. SAS is prepared to compete on price and service.

British Midland celebrates!

British Midland Airways has succeeded in finding a niche in the Swiss market one year after establishing its Zurich-London route. The airline broke into the Zurich-London market in Oct. 1995 and has since transported more than 155,000 passengers to England and back to the Swiss city. It has demonstrated that an airlines can gain the loyalty of its customers by meeting their needs while staying profitable at the same time.

Agencies won't be bumped into Lufthansa, SAS alliance
Article Abstract:
Advertising agency Young and Rubicam, which handles Lufthansa's global account, believes that its relationship with the airline will not be affected by the latter's plans to form a strategic alliance with Scandinavian carrier SAS. The two airlines will operate as a single global network, although they will retain their separate identities. SAS's international ad account is held by Observera Grey Sweden.
