Snowhite Apparels Ltd had mobilised Rs3.02 crore with a public issue in February 1996 to renovate its showrooms at Delhi and Shimla and start three more outlets in Delhi. The new outlets are under the ownership of Snowhite Clothier, a group company. The company posted a sales turnover of Rs17.08 crore in 1997-98 against projections of Rs28.86 crore. Its net profit was Rs0.22 crore against a projected Rs1.6 crore. The company now plans to set up franchises in and around Delhi to sell garments under the Snowhite brand. The company's scrip was last traded in April 1997 at Rs13 and is not listed either at the Bombay Stock Exchange or the National Stock Exchange. (khr)

HIDESIGN (INDIA) TO SET UP SALES OUTLETS ABROAD

Hidesign (India) of Pondicherry, a producer and exporter of fashion leather goods and garments, plans to set up sales outlets outside India. It is currently setting up a chain of 12 sales outlets in India and wants to set up outlets in Nepal and Sri Lanka by the end of 1998. It also plans to set up outlets in the Maldives and Singapore. Chevignon and Redskin, two leading brands of France, have decided to source products from Hidesign. Exports contributed Rs36 crore to the company's total turnover of Rs41 crore in 1997-98. (khr)

Siyaram Silk Mills Ltd of the Siyaram Poddar group is thinking of setting up a chain of showrooms across India to retail its Oxemberg range of formal and casual ready-made garments. The company plans to set up about 15 outlets within the next one year and increase it to 30 outlets in the next 2-3 years. It plans to have 3 outlets functioning in Chennai by October 1998. The company sold Oxemberg range of garments worth over Rs30 crore in 1997-98. (khr)
