SWEDEN: UNIDANMARK AIMS AT ACQUISITION

After having acquired the Norwegian insurance company Vesta, the Danish financial group Unidanmark aims at acquiring a Swedish company, the paper writes. Hugo Andersen, head of the subsidiary Tryg-Baltica, says there are no concrete plans for the Swedish market, but agrees with the paper that Lansforsakringar Wasa might be of interest if it is transformed into a limited company. According to the paper, Lansforsakringar Wasa is the most likely acquisition object.

Lithuania: Codan sells a stake in insurance company
Article Abstract:
Codan, the Danish insurance company, has sold a 15.3% stake in Lietuvos Draudimas, the biggest insurance company in Lithuania, to investment fund Investeringsfonden for Ost- og Centraleuropa and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The purchase price is DKr47mn (US$5.6mn). This deal leaves Codan with a 51% stake in Lietuvos Draudimas.
