Salomon names pair of CEOs at Europe unit
Article Abstract:
Salomon Smith Barney Inc. has appointed Jim Boshart and Ron Freeman as co-CEOs of its European division, Salomon Smith Barney Europe. Both Boshart, who was co-head of the company's investment-banking unit in New York, and Freeman, who was co-chairman of global investment banking in London, UK, are replacing Peter Middleton, who retired in early July 1998. Industry experts view the appointment as beneficial to Salomon Smith as Boshart and Freeman have more investment-banking experience than Middleton.
