Sanofi earnings rise 15% on strength in top drugs

Sanofi-Aventis S.A. of France posted a 15 percent increase in net profit for the second quarter to 1.79 billion Euros ($2.3 billion) from 1.55 billion Euros last year. Net sales were up 5.9 percent to 7.08 billion Euros form 6.69 billion Euros last year. Revenues were due to increased market share of pharmaceuticals and cost cutting measures.
