Second thoughts on globalisation
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the economic views advocated by Dani Rodrik regarding the assessment of the real impact of globalization reveals that his measurements are inadequate to determine the real costs of international trade. The prominent economist focuses on the impact of globalization on businesses and labor practices and his suggestions to minimize its impact by taxation of physical capital and the implementation of 'safeguards' against trade upsurges are not based on sound economic principles.
