Surprises in other markets could sink Hang Seng Index
Article Abstract:
Hong Kong's stock market, the Hang Seng Index, may be jeopardized by potential problems in China, Japan and the US. If the worst occurs in any of the three markets, Hong Kong's stock market is likely to plummet a few thousand points, and remain depressed for some time, some market professionals caution. In contrast, the effect of the turmoil in Indonesia should only be temporary.
