Article Abstract:
The Senate demonstrated its conservative leanings towards sexual issues in its policy towards gays in the military and its resistance to the liberal views of Elders. Surveys of sexual behavior show that homosexuality is not widespread and most teenagers are sexually conservative.

Les Aspin is very knowledgable in military matters and is pro-military. He would rather be coming up with new ideas about managing a post-cold war military than negotiating between Bill Clinton and the chiefs-of-staff over gays in the military.
