Shipbuilder's shares list on talk of rosy forecasts
Article Abstract:
Far East Levingston Shipbuilding Ltd.'s (FELS) stocks declined by as much as 13% during the start of Jun. 1996 due to speculations that its 1996 profit forecast was 'over optimistic.' Several weeks after, however, the company's share prices began to recover at the Singapore Stock Exchange. The dramatic recovery of FELS' stocks was due mainly to an expected increase in the number of oil rig orders in 1998. Buoyed such expectations, investment analysts predict that FELS' stocks may increase by more than 25% over the next 12 months.
