Siemens raises capacities

Siemens Automobilova technika (SAT) (Stribro, Czech Republic), car electrical component manufacturer, will build a new production hall. The hall with an area of 8,300 sq mt will be built at the firm's plant in Frenstat-pod-Radhostem, the Czech Republic. The hall should be commissioned in December 1998. The costs on the project's construction jobs should be 11 mil DEM. Phillipp Holzmann CZ (Czech Republic) together with local firms will be the supplier of the construction. SAT should invest another 34 mil DEM in the hall's production equipment. About 500 new jobs will be set up by the increase in the firm's production capacities. In Frenstat-pod-Radhostem, SAT has one production hall with 560 employees currently. The hall produces electrical components for automotive companies including Skoda Auto (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic). SAT's plant in Plzen, the Czech Republic, manufactures bunched cables for the car company BMW (Germany). The firm's parent plant in Stribro, the Czech Republic, has 1,800 employees.

Siemens plans further expansion
Article Abstract:
Siemens (Germany), electrotechnical concern, should invest 5.5 bil Kc in the Czech Republic in 1999-2003 if it receives investment incentives. The subsidiary Siemens Elektropristroje (Trutnov, Czech Republic) will commission a new hall in the spring of 1999. The hall will produce relays and low-voltage switching devices. The project worth 150 mil Kc is the first stage of the construction of a new production plant in Trutnov. The subsidiary Siemens Automobilova technika (Roznov pod Radhostem, Czech Republic) will invest 800 mil Kc in the construction of a new car electronic control system production hall. The investment will ensure 500 new jobs. The subsidiary Siemens Telekomunikace (Prague, Czech Republic) plans investments of 36.5 mil Kc for 1999-2000.

Siemens for SPT Telecom
Article Abstract:
SPT Telecom (Prague, Czech Republic), telecommunication firm, has arranged a contract for 1999-2000 with Siemens Telekomunikace (ST) (Prague, Czech Republic). The contract regards a supply of telecommunication equipment, which will allow the installation of nearly 500,000 new connecting points for ESWD equipment, which is one of the two main switching systems of the digital network in the Czech Republic. Another part of the contract worth 49 mil DEM should be realised in 1999. Siemens (Germany) should invest 2 mil DEM per year in the subsidiary ST in 1999-2000. The firm has invested a total of 33 mil DEM in the firm since 1991.
