Sierra Leone's uncertain path to peace
Article Abstract:
The Revolutionary United Front (RUF) of Sierra Leone is a rebel organization which is disarming, and there are camps for rebel soldiers, as well as for child soldiers, victims of rebels, and militias who sought to provide a defense against the rebels. There is little evidence of government officials meant to be managing the camps, which are supervised by monitors from the United Nations, with Nigerian soldiers as guards. The government is weak and lacks an army, while travelers are often attacked on the roads.

Nigeria imperatrix: Sierra Leone
Article Abstract:
Nigeria sent troops to Sierra Leone to fight a coup attempt against Sierra Leone's ruling government. Nigeria's intervention in Sierra Leone's internal affairs is likely to bolster up a weak government and create a guerrilla war in the country. Nigeria should have been condemned for its actions.
