Asia's cybervoice evolves
Article Abstract:
Asian Internet businesses have formed the Asia-Pacific Internet Association to provide a venue for discussions in Internet-related businesses and to lobby for Asian Internet interests in the US and in Asia. Asia's Internet-related companies number about 2,000, with a subscriber base of only 3.2 million. Forecasts however say that the 3.2 mil subscribers could grow to more than 30 mil before the year 2000. Asian Internet industry observers predict that many companies will consolidate before the industry reaches profitability.
