Skoda Auto enters India
Article Abstract:
Skoda Auto (SA) (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic), car company, has entered the Indian market. The firm has set up a wholly-owned subsidiary named Skoda Auto India (SAI) (India) in the territory. SA plans to sell about 3,000 Octavia cars in India in 2000. The firm will start the assemblies of Octavia cars at a new assembly plant in Mahastra, India, in May 2000. Octavia cars with petrol engines will be launched onto the Indian market at the end of 2000.

Volkswagen invests in Slovakia
Article Abstract:
Volkswagen (Germany), automotive concern, plans to invest more than DEM 1 bil in Slovakia during 2001-2002. The investment is connected with the launching of a new off-road vehicle named Colorado in Slovakia. The project will allow the setting up of at least 2,500 new direct jobs. Another at least 1,000 jobs will be set up in the new industrial park Zahori in western Slovakia within the project.

Galena participted in an exhibition in Japan
Article Abstract:
Galena (Opava, Czech Republic), pharmaceutical firm, participated in the exhibition ChemSpec Pharmaceutical Japan in Tokio, Japan. The firm arranged contracts worth 400,000 USD at the exhibition, which displayed pharmaceutical substances, chemicals and extracts. Galena is successfully launching a new product named Pernolid intended for the treatment of Parkinson's disease in Japan.
