Art's regenerational realities

The Battersea Arts Centre and the Institute of Ideas held a recent conference to address the issue of urban renewal through art and architecture. The debate centered around the meaning of "regeneration" to better understand the notion of public arts spaces as catalysts for cultural renewal.

Small is not so beautiful

The rationale of environmental impact for building tall skyscrapers and small micro-flats in Great Britain is discussed critically. It is felt that architects should start thinking more and challenge social and environmental constraints, to design buildings that are practical living spaces.
