So the elephants danced
Article Abstract:
The global telecommunications industry is being extensively affected by technology, market liberalization and privatization. Latest technology is allowing new companies to compete with well-established ones, and this is prompting a wave of mergers in an effort to gain new customers. The most recent merger deals are those of British Telecommunications with AT&T and Bell Atlantic with GTE. There are mixed views about whether the merged operations will be simply too large to operate efficiently or whether these companies have adopted a sensible strategy for survival.
